Why Does My Skin Cancer Need Mohs Surgery?

Mohs Surgery is appropriate when:

  • The cancer is in an area where it is important to preserve healthy tissue for maximal cosmesis and function such as the nose, eyelids, lips, ears, fingers, toes and genitals.

  • The cancer has recurred after a previous treatment

  • The cancer is large

  • The edges of the cancer are difficult to see with the naked eye
